Heading toward 60 … [still]

Hey there fellow Life Lover. Last month I introduced the amazing? fact that I am heading toward 60. Not that amazing I guess as most of us are heading toward 60, however as I’m now just 14 months away, I am drawn to share my thoughts as I approach the ’60 marker’.

Over this past month this “milestone” has given me cause to reflect on many things. 3 of these are standouts and keep returning to the top of my thought queue.

  • What have the previous 50+ years produced? … and what have I learned from them?
  • What will inspire me to express myself over the next 5/10 years?
  • How can I best encourage my daughters to “go for it”?

What gives You thought to reflect on your life?

Next month I will share some of my “answers” to the questions above and anything else ‘newsworthy’ on my journey toward 60. To finish off, seeing that I am reflecting on time that has passed, here’s some music from 1974 headlined by one of my favourite bands “Queen”.

Heading toward 60 … the countdown commences

“The countdown commences” ….. I turn 60 on 18 December 2014, 15 months from Today. Wow! … What I intend doing is to continue enjoying my adventure today, tomorrow and so on. The age “60” is just a number, nothing more, nothing less. Life60

Why tell you all of this? Apart from a bit of self indulgence, I want to share my ongoing adventure, my thoughts and (lessons that I have learned and am still learning along the way) right up to that “magic number”.

It’s a bit of a shock, really. I’ve never considered myself arriving at this point in my life. I knew that I would get there one day of course … but not now. I mean, I feel as though I am still 40.

As far as I’m concerned age is irrelevant. It’s what each of us does with our day, that’s relevant. Fresh thoughts, excitement, vibrancy, taking positive action … these are the types of things that you can do at any age.

I intend continuing this theme until “I leave the house”. And when that happens, I want to be carried out in style with the appropriate music, just like this. A blast from the past however Norman Greenbaum’s classic “Spirit in the Sky” does it for me.

Have a listen, it’s catchy …

For now, it’s “business as usual”, much left to achieve, much left to imagine, create and put into action. Enjoy your day, enjoy your life.

Be good to yourself
